Cape Wind Associates has received a $150m loan guarantee from the US Department of Energy (DOE) to construct what will be the nation’s first offshore wind farm, off the Massachusetts coast. The conditional guarantee is for a 360MW phase one of the 468MW project, which will feature 130 Siemens 3.6-megawatt offshore wind turbines.
