Carbon Nano Membranes for filtering applications

CNMs carbon nano membranes can be equipped with tailored pores directly in the manufacturing process. As the pore diameter and the thickness of the membrane are in the same order of magnitude as the diameter of the molecules that should be filtered, the process of passing through the membrane is ballistic instead of a migration process like with the Standard membranes with a thickness at least ten times thicker. This offers the chance of a disruptive filtering process, that is highly efficient and low cost and works in markets like gas separation, water cleaning and biomedical filtering.
