DAIZ will use the ¥7.1 billion ($47.5 million) Series C funding to build a 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Kumamoto that will produce 8,000 tons of plant-based protein per year upon launch in February 2025, eventually scaling to full capacity of 20,000 tons annually. The round reportedly involves a debt component from the Japanese government's trade and agriculture ministries.
