Libralato rotary engine

The Libralato rotary engine is predicted to be the most innovative advance in engine design since the reciprocating piston, solving the problems of the 1950s Wankel rotary engine. Like the Wankel it is about half the size and weight of a reciprocating engine and therefore has double the power density. But unlike the Wankel it has a power stroke in every revolution, extremely efficient combustion geometry and good sealing characteristics. It has a completely new engine mechanism and thermodynamic cycle which involves two rotors with overlapping orbits, exchanging gases in three dynamic chambers: intake, compression and expansion.
