Sonnenbatterie eco (4kWh – 16 kWh)

The latest version of Sonnenbatterie eco dramatically increases the service life of solar power storage systems. With a life of 10,000 charge cycles, it makes households fit for the future and provides long-term investment security. The long life also reduces the cost per stored kilowatt-hour, currently about 14 to 20 eurocents per kilowatt-hour depending on the size of the Sonnenbatterie. With the new version of our most popular model, we add a very long lifetime to the package,” says Christoph Ostermann, CEO of Sonnenbatterie. “That makes Sonnenbatterie eco even more economical and able to handle future requirements. This upgrade comes at no additional cost to the customer – the cost per kilowatt-hour of useable capacity is still the same.” Distributed storage systems such as Sonnenbatterie are already an active part of the new energy landscape. They allow owners of PV systems to maximise self-consumption and avoid expensive power from the public grid. Future storage systems will take on even more tasks, extending beyond simply storing solar power. For example, a growing number of customers want to be independent for both electricity and heat generation by coupling their photovoltaic and storage systems to a micro CHP. As a grid-friendly storage system, Sonnenbatterie can be used for grid-based services. Sonnenbatterie owners can already integrate their systems into a virtual power plant to generate more income. All of these applications place high demands on the life of power storage systems, which the new Sonnenbatterie eco fulfils effortlessly. The 10,000 cycle life is the result of a complex interplay of battery technology, system design and software. The battery modules are specifically configured for Sonnenbatterie and are based on the extremely robust Fortelion™ battery technology of the Japanese maker Sony Corporation. The Sonnenbatterie system design and proprietary software ensure optimal use of the battery cells. The battery cells are also covered by warranty of up to 10 years, giving customers additional security. The new Sonnenbatterie eco is available with rated capacity from 4 kWh to 16 kWh in steps of 2 kWh to meet the specific needs of every household. The batteries are designed for deep discharge to enable full capacity utilisation. Just as the previous generation, the new Sonnenbatterie eco meets the requirements of the German safety guidelines for household lithium battery storage systems, which testifies to its outstanding safety and quality. The new Sonnenbatterie eco is already in production and available immediately. Sonnenbatterie eco is sold by regional “Sonnenbatterie Center” throughout Germany. Technical Data: Battery Capacity: 4,5 kWh - Dimensions (in): 24/35/14 - Weight: 280 lbs - Output: 2,500 W - 3,300 W
