kraftwerk – city accelerator bremen is a 14-month accelerator program, in partnership with swb, Mercedes Benz Bremen Plant, and EWE, that supports start-ups in developing their ideas and technologies. The program provides up to €150,000 in benefits to support start-ups and founders that are developing solutions for the city of the future.

In particular, kraftwerk - city accelerator bremen is looking for start-ups and founders devoted to the business areas of Rethinking Energy, Digital Business Models, Industry 4.0, and New Waste Solutions. The program provides selected start-ups with up to €150,000 in benefits, including:

  • Up to €60,000 in cash investment with potential follow on investment after the program has ended
  • Support from tutors with expertise in your sector to support you throughout the program
  • Access to the partners’ infrastructure and well-established business network
  • Free office space for your team
  • A comprehensive start-up educational program, business coaching, workshops, and community events

Bremen has the second highest GDP per capita of any German state. It has more than 650,000 inhabitants and is home to leading German companies in the maritime, aerospace, IT, and automotive industries. The region is also equipped with several top class universities in applied sciences, making it an important research hub. Being part of the program in Germany will also enable you to join the huge and receptive market as the country transitions to a predominantly clean and sustainable energy portfolio as part of the ENERGIEWENDE, the German Energy Transition Process.
