Reducing Landfill Waste from In-Flight Service
The Challenge:
Cathay Pacific flies more than 30 million customers a year, providing 82,000 meals on 200+ flights every day. Their challenge is to create the next-generation environmentally friendly economy class meal service with aim to reduce the landfill waste generated. This covers specific items like casserole dishes, pieces of cutlery, and covers for salad bowls, or perhaps you have a completely different solution…
Cathay Pacific is looking for innovations in areas such as, but not limited to, materials, design, or automation. If we select your solution, we will fund the pilot.
The Background:
Cathay Pacific is working together with the Cleantech Group to identify commercially ready new technologies that could be applied in its portfolio to help accelerate the group’s efforts to minimize its environmental impacts and waste to landfill. Wherever possible it seeks to support efforts to transition to a circular economy.
The winning solution will be funded by the Swire Pacific SD Fund. The Swire Pacific SD Fund seeks primarily to fund proof-of-concept trials of innovative technologies and approaches that when scaled up more widely within the group’s various operations has the potential to significantly impact.
