Ocean Pacific Technologies (OPT) has received an investment to fund trial testing of the OPT ceramic-enhanced high-pressure pump for deep well injection in the Permian Basin, Texas. It is the first test of our ceramic-enhanced pump design in an oil and gas application outside of seawater desalination. Testing in this real-world application is underway.

The O-pump is a ceramic, water lubricated, axial piston pump (APP) that combines the efficiency of an APP (90%) with the robustness of a centrifugal pump. It saves as much as 25% of the energy compared to centrifugal high-pressure pumps.
